《環球時報》轉載了一篇來自《華盛頓郵報》的報導，標題是「美國，都到燒書的份上了？」《華盛頓郵報》的原文標題是「田納西州議員建議焚燒違禁書籍」。華郵對這個故事的早期版本作出了修正，早期版本錯誤地指出該法案將提交給田納西州州長簽署成為法律。事實上州參眾兩院通過的法案版本之間出現了分歧，兩者之間的分歧得到解決後，該法案才會提交給田納西州州長簽署成為法律。這個法案到底是怎麼一回事呢？到底是什麼原因會出台這個法案呢？週三，由GOP領導的田納西州眾議院通過了一項法案，該法案要求公共圖書館員向州政府的委員會提交一份藏書書名清單，藏書需要獲得核准才能在公共圖書館供孩子們閱讀。首先需要弄明白的是這個法案的對象是未成年人，是針對孩子們去公共圖書館借閱圖書清單。這個新通過的法案將允許家長們對圖書館裡展示的書籍若感到不滿意，可以提出投訴。該法案還允許他們向州政府設立的委員會上訴，決定該書的存放地點或從圖書館搬走。自從敗登上台以來，民左黨在全美大力宣傳和推行批判種族理論（CRT），公共圖書館裡出現了涉及LGBTQ的書籍，甚至還含有色情內容，而這些書籍的內容與年幼的孩子們年齡是完全不相符的。許多家長，特別是住在紅州的家長們都向當地ZF投訴。家長們要求當地ZF立法來保護孩子們免受被左B們洗腦。所以多個紅州相繼出台針對CRT的立法。田納西州眾議院在辯論這項法案時，民主黨州眾議員 John Ray Clemmons問共和黨州眾議員Jerry Sexton 他將會如何處理這些被認為“不適合”的書籍。看看兩人的對話：民主黨議員Clemmons ：“You going to put them in thestreet? Light them on fire? Where are they going?”（你要把它們（書籍）扔到街上嗎？點燃它們嗎？要把它們放到哪裏呢？）共和黨議員Sexton ：“I don’t have a clue, but I would burn them,” （我不知道要怎麼辦，但是我會把它們燒掉。” Clemmons ：”That’s what I thought。“（我正是那麼認為的。）Sexton那句 I would burn them讓民左黨揪著辮子，接著民左黨喉舌華郵和其他豬流媒體大肆報導此事件，抨擊共和黨議員建議焚燒書籍。豬流媒體將“焚燒書籍”這個提議貼上draconian law （極端嚴酷的法律）的標籤，甚至將這個法律與納粹行為相提並論。民左黨所做的這一切當然就是為了即將到來的國會中期選舉。這就是所謂「美國，都到燒書的份上了？」的來龍去脈。田納西州若真的通過這個法案，只能在該州實施，而不能在全美實施。這個法案出台的原因是因為家長們不斷地呼籲，要求ZF出台保護孩子們的相關法案。田納西州這個法案，佛州之前出台的《家長權利法》，還有其他紅州相繼出台的法案都是與民左黨大力推行的CRT在做抗爭。明白事情的來龍去脈才能夠真正了解法案的意圖和目的。展开全文
